Who we are

A business development partner with a commercial point of view.

Businesses rarely need more activity for its own sake. They need a clearer view of where value can come from, what to prioritise and which relationships or capabilities will make the next step more credible.

TEGPA works at that intersection. Our focus is business development: helping organisations understand their opportunities, assess them with discipline and move towards them with a practical plan. We are particularly interested in the role that strategic partnerships and well-prepared investment conversations can play in that journey.

We do not begin with a predetermined solution. We begin by understanding the business — its model, its customers, its constraints and the outcomes its leadership is trying to create. Recommendations are useful only when they can be acted on by the organisation receiving them.

“Understand first. Then help the business make a better decision, build the right relationship or take a more credible next step.”

Our focus

Growth is a broad ambition. Progress requires a narrower focus.

Three connected areas that help businesses move from opportunity to action.

01

Business development

We help businesses examine how they create value, where growth can come from and what needs to change to pursue it with discipline.

02

Strategic partnerships

We approach collaboration through fit, mutual value and a clear understanding of what each relationship is meant to achieve.

03

Opportunity assessment

We bring structure to evaluating opportunities so leadership can compare options, risks and readiness with greater clarity.

How we approach opportunity

Structure for the question. Flexibility for the answer.

Opportunities can look attractive before they have been examined. Our process slows the conversation down just enough to make the next decision more responsible, then helps the business move.

01

Audit

We establish the facts: the business model, market context, capabilities, constraints and the evidence behind the current position.

02

Diagnose

We isolate the real question — the constraint or opportunity that matters most — and distinguish it from symptoms and assumptions.

03

Evaluate

We compare the available options on evidence, strategic fit, value at stake, risk and readiness to act.

04

Plan

We define a practical route forward: priorities, decisions, owners, milestones and the relationships required.

Working principles

How we work matters as much as what we recommend.

These principles guide how we engage, what we pay attention to and how we protect the trust placed in us.

01

Evidence before opinion

We separate what is known from what is assumed, and make the difference visible.

02

Fit before scale

The right opportunity is one the business can pursue credibly, not simply the largest one available.

03

Clarity before activity

We prefer a focused plan with clear choices to a long list of disconnected actions.

04

Relationships before transactions

We treat connections as long-term relationships, not one-off introductions.

05

Discretion and confidentiality

Business information is handled carefully and shared only where there is a legitimate reason to do so.

06

Long-term perspective

We consider the durability of a decision, not only its immediate appeal.

Our long-term vision

To be a trusted growth partner for businesses building across Africa and beyond.

We want TEGPA to be known for useful thinking, thoughtful relationships and a disciplined approach to opportunity. That means being candid about what we can and cannot do, and being clear about the difference between preparation, introduction and a guaranteed outcome.

  • Help businesses make better-informed growth decisions.
  • Build relationships that create value on both sides.
  • Work with discretion, honesty and a long-term view.
